Population: 5.6 million.
Nicknamed the Land of 10,000 Lakes.
This is also the place that we met and sparked our romance.
We met on a beautiful June day at a country music festival. Jeremiah was there with his best buddies and I was there for a bachelorette party. I was selling lollipops to raise money for the bride’s honeymoon (if you’ve done this before you’ve heard it referenced as Suck for a Buck). I ran into to Jeremiah to sell him some suckers, but he only had a $20 bill on him. I claimed I didn’t have any change. However, I had already sold quite a few so little did he know, I had a big wad of cash in my pocket but was not going to admit it. At first he wasn’t budging but I was about to run off to make my next sale when Jeremiah bought my entire sucker bouquet to continue talking with me; guess he was the real sucker!
We spent the next 2 days at the festival listening to musicians like Thomas Rhett and dancing the night away. He took me on our a first date two days later where we immediately hit it off and the rest is history.
We love Minnesota and spend most of our time here on the lakes. In the summer time, you’ll catch us camping at places like Itasca State Park and boating around Noelle’s hometown of Lake Minnetonka. In the dead of winter, you’ll catch us ice fishing on the frozen lakes.
We love our lakes. We love them so much that we decided to get scuba certified in Minnesota in October when the high temperature was 40 degrees Fahrenheit. What an experience that was!
Minnesota will always hold a dear place in our hearts as the place where our journey together began. However, we are looking forward to experiencing new places and new cultures around the world to see where our new home may be.
We love you Minnesota and the time you gave us. Until next time.
